This June, I have decided to open up my weekly live writing coaching sessions for free to all subscribers, and this week’s lesson is on the mindfulness principle of beginner’s mind and how it can help us during these tumultuous times.
Do yourself a self-care favor and take 30 minutes to watch and listen.
Have your journal nearby,
Get comfortable.
This is a rocky ride, friends. The news notifications can wait for half an hour.
I promise you that your will feel calmer, clearer, and better able to handle your life and work when you do.
Remember, as Audre Lorde taught us, “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
And, I would act, a radical act of peacemaking, too.
Join me each Wednesday in June for Green Ink Live as we continue exploring the ways in which mindfulness and radical intersectional feminism can help us through.
And if you’d like to dive more deeply into the poetry of Audre Lorde and six other poets who can help you heal from individual and collective trauma, check out my class hosted by The Loft Literary Center later this month.
